UNIfit Terms of Use

The user is entitled to use the services offered by UNIfit or the university sports program that correspond to the selected usage plan.

1. Start of UNIfitmembership:

Membership begins on the specified contract start date. This date (without the year) corresponds to the contract effective date.

2. ID Requirement:

To use the services offered by UNIfit , you must always bring your personal membership card with you.

3. UNIfitPackages:(All packages include basic membership in the AHS)

UNIfit-Total: Use of the UNIfit on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on weekends during the respective opening hours.

UNIfit-Early Access: Use of the UNIfit on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on weekends during the respective opening hours.

The term specified corresponds to the minimum term.

START Package: one-time fee of €20.00 for beginners (applies to all contracts) and one-time fee of €10.00 for advanced members (applies to all contracts).

4. Termination: The membership may be terminated by either party with at least two weeks’ notice prior to the end of the specified minimum term. Notice of termination must be provided in writing. If notice is not given in a timely manner, the contract is extended indefinitely. The notice period is then two weeks for both parties, effective as of the contract’s effective date. The right to terminate the contract for cause remains unaffected by this provision.

Please be sure to include a current email address on the notice of termination. We will confirm every termination by email within 10 days.

5. Direct Debit Authorization: University Sports is so affordable because we strive to keep administrative costs as low as possible. Therefore, membership under these terms is only possible if you grant us a direct debit authorization. Debits can only be made from domestic bank accounts. Holders of foreign bank accounts should contact the University Sports Office directly.

6. Cash Payment: Cash payments are only accepted subject to a processing fee of €5.00.

7. Changes to Personal Information: Please notify us immediately in writing or by email of anychange of address , name change, or changes to your bank account information.

8. Suspending Contracts: Contracts may be suspended for a specific period (only for full months) for valid reasons. Valid reasons include illness, injuries, internships, or professional activities outside of Kassel. Please submit an informal request with the relevant documentation to us in a timely manner. It is not possible to suspend a contract retroactively .

9. Information on the Protection of Personal Data: The protection of personal data at UNIfitusers as well as visitors to our website is of great importance to us. Your data is processed in accordance with data protection regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Hessian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act (HDSIG). Therefore, we would like to inform you here about data protection.

Visiting Our Website: When you access content on the University of Kassel’s web servers, the following data is generally stored in the server log files: IP address, date and time, possibly browser type (“user agent”) and referring page (“referrer”), URL and length of the page accessed, response code (“status code”), and for web services requiring login: user ID.

This data is used exclusively for the purposes of monitoring functionality, troubleshooting, security, and statistics (see below). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. All log files are deleted or anonymized immediately.

For the purpose of compiling its own internal statistics on website visits, the University of Kassel uses “Matomo” (formerly Piwik), a software tool for analyzing web server access. Handling of Your Personal Data: To the extent that you have provided us with personal data, we use it solely to answer your questions, to fulfill contracts concluded with you, and for technical administration.

Stored personal data will be deleted if you revoke your consent to its storage, or if knowledge of such data is no longer necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was stored (e.g., upon leaving the UNIfit or upon termination of the contract), or if its storage is otherwise prohibited by law.

Security Notice: We make every effort to store your personal data using all available technical and organizational measures so that it remains inaccessible to third parties. We cannot guarantee complete data security when communicating via email; therefore, we recommend that you send confidential information by mail.

10. Medical History Form: The medical history form may be completed by the trainers during a consultation. The trainee is aware that all information provided on the medical history form is voluntary. If the trainee chooses not to provide any medical history information, this will not result in any disadvantage for him or her. The personal data provided will be used exclusively to answer questions from the trainee, to fulfill the terms of the contract, and for technical administration. For these purposes, the trainee expressly consents to the processing of their personal data from the completed medical history form. Furthermore, the trainee is aware that the consent given may be revoked at any time by sending an email to unifit@uni-kassel.de. In addition, the trainee agrees that the data may be entered into the computer system.

11. Severability Clause: Should any provision of this contract be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The parties agree to replace the invalid provision with a valid provision that most closely approximates the intent of the invalid provision.
