Bioimpedance Analysis (BIA)

Why estimate when you can measure?

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA for short) is a proven method for measuring your body composition. The measurement results provide insight into your muscle mass, body fat percentage, cellular health, and basal metabolic rate, among other things. BIA is particularly valuable when making dietary changes. It also serves as an insightful tool for optimizing your physical training.

In a final consultation, we’ll explain your results and provide personalized recommendations regarding exercise, training, and nutrition based on them. Let’s work together to discover what your body is capable of.

More Information

When should a BIA measurement be performed?

  • To monitor progress regarding health, fitness, and training
  • Before starting any diet or weight-loss program
  • To achieve and maintain your target weight
  • To optimize training

What should you keep in mind before taking the measurement?

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol 12 hours before the test
  • Do not engage in intense exercise or other strenuous activities 8 hours before the test
  • Avoid heavy meals 2 hours before the test
  • Please empty your bladder shortly before the test
  • If possible, remove all metal objects

Who should not undergo this measurement?

The measurement is generally suitable for everyone. However, BIA should only be performed if you are not pregnant and are in good health. In cases of acute illness (e.g., gastrointestinal or flu-like infections), BIA is not permitted, as it can distort the actual body composition. If you have a medical implant, such as a pacemaker, BIA must also not be performed.
