Welcome to the section of Sociology and Economy of the Welfare State

The Unit of Sociology and Economy of the Welfare State

The unit is dedicated to the tasks and developments of social services and institutions in the context of social science theories, empirical findings and social economy approaches. In our research and teaching, we empirically investigate the regulation and provision of social services and social security by the welfare state, the foundations of social work in terms of labor and social law, and the conditions, objectives and expected consequences of the economization of social services and social security. We are interested in the social constructions, relationships and discourses that underlie the social orders.
