Overarching concept

The Research Training Group Welfare State and Interest Organizations offers a broad framework for different research perspectives and
interests.

The Research Training Group provides an umbrella for different fields of investigation, perspectives and methods. At the same time, we have identified overarching questions for these individual projects/perspectives. In this way, we want to strengthen both the connection between the projects and their thematic focus on the areas of the welfare state and interest organizations.

1. Dimension:
   Shaping and changing the state-association relationship
   (corporatism, pluralism, lobbyism)
2. Dimension:
   Governance within associations
   (tension between membership and influence logic)
3. Dimension:
   Strong and weak interests
   (power and resource issues; insiders and outsiders)

These dimensions are to be considered in different ways in the individual projects.
