An exciting symposium "Socio-Ecological Transformation in Times of Regression" comes to an end
SOCIO-ECOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION
IN TIMES REGRESSION
International Symposium
University of Kassel, December 4-5, 2025
At the beginning of December, the political science department "International Relations with a focus on Latin America" hosted an international conference entitled "Socio-Ecological Transformation in Times of Regression" at the University of Kassel. Speakers and guests from around the world discussed issues related to the core topics of "Shifting Global Order," "Contested Futures," and "The Dual Role of Work." In the public symposium on "Emancipation in Times of Regression," Eva von Redecker and Micaela Cuesta discussed fascist tendencies in Germany and Argentina and how covert anti-democratic strategies can be made visible. Based on the diverse perspectives presented over the two days, exciting debates arose about how some of the most pressing social challenges of our time can be addressed. In the long term, exciting publications will appear on the department's website on this basis.
