Practical school studies

The practical school studies are divided into SPS I and SPS II. The first part is interdisciplinary (general school internship) and the second part is subject-specific and must therefore be completed in each subject.

The SPS I serves to familiarize students intensively with school practice from a teacher's perspective. This primarily takes place independently of the subject. Initial insights for a change of perspective are gained primarily through observations and own teaching experiments. (Source: Department for Practical School Studies)

The course consists of:

• A preparatory seminar (during the winter semester)
• The block internship (during the lecture-free period)
• Compact dates during the block internship

Registration takes place centrally via the Department for Practical School Studies. Further information on the SPS I can also be found there.

The SPS II is intended to provide an in-depth insight into the activities of sports teachers. To this end, you will accompany a specific course or class in your subject over the course of a semester. You will be able to apply the didactic knowledge you have acquired in advance in specially designed and implemented teaching experiments. (Source: Department for Practical School Studies)

Registration takes place in the subject of sport together with online registration for the sport courses. The SPS II takes place every semester.

After registration has been completed, there is a binding preliminary meeting at which the final allocation of places and school allocation takes place. This date will be announced by email.
