Ceremonial graduation: IfSS honors graduates and outstanding academic achievements

On Friday, January 30, 2026, 150 guests came together at the Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS) to honor the graduates of the sports degree program. The successful completion of the first state examination of the class of 2025 was celebrated together.

A highlight of the event was the traditional presentation of the Dietrich Martin Awards for outstanding examination and academic achievements. This year, Julian Groß was honored for his academic term paper. His excellent analysis entitled "Hazard perception in cycling: An analysis of developmental, biological and social factors for accident prevention in children and adolescents" convinced the reviewers across the board. In addition to theoretical models, the work presents and discusses central developmental factors of hazard perception as well as existing intervention approaches. This provides valuable impetus for further research and the conceptual design of road safety measures.

Nina Heiduck was also honored for the best study and examination results of the entire year. During her studies, she consistently achieved top marks in sport and was therefore selected as a worthy winner. In addition to a certificate, the award winners received a cheque in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The IfSS would like to congratulate all graduates and wish them every success in their future careers!
