Expansion of the university-school-club network. Acquisition of the additional qualification handball coach C license

The handball didactics department has been cooperating with schools and clubs in northern Hesse for years.

These contacts will be intensified in 2012. Sports students who have successfully completed the elective module in handball can acquire the handball coach C license directly at the Institute of Sport and Sports Science with a teaching test and an exam. The past few years have shown that these additional qualifications can significantly increase the chances of being hired by schools.

In March/April 2012, 12 students are currently taking their exams. In addition, the elective handball module carried out a systematic match observation at the Bundesliga match MT Melsungen - THW Kiel on March 21 in the Rothenbachhalle in Kassel. This provided an interesting insight into competitive sport.

Cooperation with schools in Kassel is also being expanded. In May 2012, the elective module will carry out a training internship with the handball talent development group in the Auepark sports hall.

On the school sports day (5 June 2012), we will be implementing our "Target shooting games - games with hand and ball" teaching model with several hundred children. "We have big plans to make handball an attractive sport for children and young people" (Günter Böttcher).
