CHE ranking: The IfSS is evaluated again

Every year, the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) conducts comparative studies at German universities and universities of applied sciences. In 2009, the subject of sport/sport science was also examined for the first time with regard to studies, teaching, facilities and research. The IfSS at the University of Kassel achieved very good results in the area of study conditions and is in the top group of German higher education institutions along with Freiburg, Münster and Potsdam.

These studies are based on surveys of students, professors and faculty as well as an analysis of publication activity. This annual CHE University Ranking offers interested parties, but especially first-year students, the opportunity to compare the performance of German universities and universities of applied sciences and to take this into account when choosing where to study.

The Kassel Institute of Sport and Sport Science achieved excellent results in the criteria of the study situation and the support provided by the teaching staff, while the facilities of the sports facilities were rated as satisfactory. But this is also being worked on: The current study conditions at the IfSS will improve enormously for all sports students in the near future thanks to the new institute building at the Aueparkhalle.

The current student survey asks about the range of courses, study conditions, advice and support, career relevance, opportunities to study abroad and e-learning opportunities, among other things. The IfSS asks all selected sports students to take part in the CHE survey.
