The IfSS honors its graduates and the most successful athletes at the University of Kassel

On the evening of 7 December 2011, President Prof. Dr. Rolf-Dieter Postlep and Managing Director Prof. Dr. Volker Scheid, together with University Sports Officer Gerhard Blömeke-Rumpf, traditionally honoured the best athletes of 2011 in the University of Kassel's Gießhaus. As part of this event, at which the graduates of 2011 were bid farewell, the best graduate of the year in the subject of sport for the teaching profession was also awarded the Dietrich Martin Prize: Simon Herwig. The IfSS would like to congratulate him on this outstanding achievement!

General University Sport can look back on a successful 2011 at both national and international level. The foundation stone for this was laid by karateka Haris Dzigal and Andreas Bittner, who qualified for the European Student Karate Championships in Sarajevo. In addition, there were numerous other first places at German university championships: Janina Topp (boxing), Katarina Zabkova (karate), Katrin Arndt (half marathon), Lucia Zaradnicek (Ju Justu), Marek Hofmann (boxing), Raymund Meilinger (boxing), Roman Wehrwein (boxing) and Thomas Thyssen (half marathon).
