Expert hearing on sports teacher training

Representatives of the German Olympic Sports Confederation, the German Sports Teachers' Association and the German Association for Sports Science (members of the School Sport Committee with the participation of Vice-President Prof. Dr. Volker Scheid, Kassel) discussed the implementation of the memorandum on school sport adopted in 2009 at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Kassel on November 18, 2011. The hearing was organized by the Centre for Educational Research in Sport (CeBS) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Nils Neuber (Münster).

This time, the focus was on 'educational research in sport' with a focus on the training of sports teachers. The hearing was introduced by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Wolf-Dietrich Miethling (Kiel) on the topic of "Sports teacher training in the context of the sports teacher biography". Prof. Dr. Claus Buhren and Stefan Meier (Cologne) followed with their presentation "Evaluation of sports teacher training in NRW". The third keynote speech dealt with the topic of "Competence development in the practical semester", which was given by colleagues Julia Hapke and Verena Oesterhelt (Jena/Erlangen-Nuremberg). All presentations were followed by a short discussion, which was summarized at the end of the hearing.
