Hello & Goodbye, staff changes at the IfSS

In June 1974, Dr. Helga Adolph began her work as a research assistant on the sports course at Kassel University of Applied Sciences and subsequently played a key role in shaping the course. 36 years later ? the Gesamthochschule is now the University of Kassel and the sports degree program takes place at the Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS) ? Helga Adolph is now taking partial retirement. After completing her doctorate in 1978, Helga Adolph worked as an academic advisor in the field of sports science. Her professional work in the didactics of the subject included basketball (which she also played competitively), cross-country skiing and orienteering. In the subject-specific sciences, she dealt with topics such as sports promotion teaching, integrative sports education, health and environmental education and gender issues in sport. This has resulted in a series of textbooks and research articles in anthologies and specialist journals. The staff of the IfSS wishes Dr. Helga Adolph all the best for her future.

A new era began for Dr. Andreas Albert at the IfSS in August 2010. After completing his studies at the University of Kassel, Mr. Albert worked as a research assistant at the Institute from 2005 to 2010. In his new position as an academic advisor, he is active in the didactics of target shooting and backstroke games, swimming and alpine skiing. In the specialist sciences, his teaching and research focuses on the topics of sporting talent and elearning in sport, which has already resulted in several publications. Dr. Andreas Albert will also take over as course director for students on the Sport in Vocational and Business Education course (L4). The IfSS is looking forward to continuing its collaboration with Andreas Albert.
