IfSS of the University of Kassel swims, cycles and runs first to the finish line

Last Saturday, July 2, 2011, the Sports Institute of the University of Kassel started with a team at the company cup of the 22nd WVC triathlon in Kassel. The relay team with the two research assistants Johannes Knauf (swimming) and Sascha Creutzburg (cycling) as well as the sports student Steffi Wernicke (running) won the overall victory after 1:17:28 hours with a lead of almost five minutes and thus also the victory in the mixed classification of the relay competition.

Thanks to an outstanding swim, Johannes Knauf emerged from the ice-cold water at the front of the field and gave the university relay team a very good starting position for the bike course. The active cyclist Sascha Creutzburg outclassed the competition on the undulating and windy course with the best time of the day (bike) and handed over to the runner Steffi Wernicke with a large lead. Steffi finished the race confidently in the light rain and kept the following relay teams at bay.
