Interdisciplinary expert workshop 2012 - movement learning in Kassel

From September 7 to 9, an expert workshop on the topic of "Effect-driven action control in movement learning ? How do I tell my child?? took place at the Reinhardswaldschule conference center in Fuldatal. The event was organized by the Training & Movement Department of the IfSS (Prof. Dr. Armin Kibele) in cooperation with the sports psychology working group led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Weigelt from the University of Paderborn. An interdisciplinary and international panel of experts discussed current research findings from experimental cognitive science, neuroscience and sports science and established links to movement learning. Furthermore, young scientists had the opportunity to discuss their research work with the experts in a poster session. As a special highlight, the conference program also included an examination of current cultural topics in addition to the discussion of scientific topics. On Saturday afternoon, after a boat trip to Kassel city center in bright sunshine, a visit to dOCUMENTA (13) was also on the agenda. At the end of the event, the participants had high praise for the organizers. The scientific contributions to the conference will soon be published in written form in a conference volume.
