New project: Gender and coeducation in sports studies at the IfSS

The Institute of Sport and Sport Science successfully submitted an application as part of the competition for funding from the special fund 'Structural Equal Opportunities'. In the course of the discussion on equal opportunities at the University of Kassel, the application submitted by Prof. Scheid and Ms. Mutschall made a very good impression on the University's Equal Opportunities Commission. The funds made available will be used primarily for teaching in sports studies. Concrete measures will be implemented under various headings relating to stereotypes in PE lessons, the role of teachers in co-educational PE lessons and assessments and evaluations in co-educational PE lessons. In addition to a lecture series with renowned sports scientists taking place in SS 14, tutorials will also be held from a gender perspective from WS 13/14. The focus is on dealing with the topic of gender both with regard to one's own movement biography and the future role of the teacher. The results regarding the "effectiveness" of the measures will be ensured and evaluated by a team of experts under the direction of Ms. Frauke Mutschall. The Institute is looking forward to a stimulating time with an exciting and enriching examination of this important and current topic!
