Nightsoccer 2011- Razzle Dazzle wins title

More than 400 soccer enthusiasts gathered at the Aueparkhalle for the third Nightsoccer tournament on 03.11.2011. Not only the players, but also the spectators were offered a lot in 2011: From table football and Headis to Wii and Playstation, there was something for everyone and no chance of boredom. As always, the sports student council provided refreshments.

The preliminary round started with a record field of 20 teams. Well-known teams such as Hartz 04 and Sportfreunde Konterbier as well as new faces were keen to show off their skills and compete for the coveted Nightsoccer Champion ? title, which was sponsored this year by Sportwunder GmbH. In each of the four preliminary groups, four teams won through to the round of 16. Here the knockout system continued. In the end, it came down to a rematch of the Uni League final between Newcassel United and Razzle Dazzle. After an exciting game, which ended without any goals in regular time, Razzle Dazzle won the penalty shoot-out to become the 2011 Nightsoccer champions. Matiullah Razaq, who was named player of the tournament, certainly contributed to this.

Particularly pleasing for the organizers (Sports Department of the General University Sports) were the smooth running of the event and the exclusively fair matches, as well as the large number of fans and spectators who actively supported their teams.
