Sports studies at the University of Kassel - teaching and research in harmony

Studying at the Institute of Sport and Sport Science at the University of Kassel offers prospective sports teachers special incentives. For example, the teacher training courses for elementary school (L1), secondary schools (L2), grammar schools (L3) and the Bachelor-Master's degree course in vocational and business education with sport as a second subject (L4) implement an application-oriented training concept in theory and practice. Furthermore, additional qualifications and coaching licenses can be acquired in various sports.

Sports science research with a focus on sports pedagogy, sports psychology and training and movement science offers opportunities to deepen the theoretical foundations through active participation.

General University Sport is open to all students at the University. It offers a varied leisure and competition program as well as social events in courses and compact events.

The sports study program focuses on the centrally located Aueparksportzentrum with sports hall, Auestadion and other sports facilities.

New students will be accepted for the winter semester 2012/2013. For this purpose, applicants must complete an aptitude test on 15.06.2012 in the Auepark sports hall. In this test, both general motor skills and sport-specific skills are tested as a prerequisite for admission to the sports degree program.
