Surfing 2010

The surfing excursion has been an integral part of the Kassel University Sports excursion program for several years. This summer semester, the compulsory elective module surfing is being offered for the first time. This gives students the opportunity to expand their profile with this attractive sport. By including it in the course program, the Institute of Sport and Sport Science is moving with the times and incorporating current developments in sport in the private, social and educational spheres. This also underpins the innovative and modern character of the didactic and methodological training of future teachers. Surfing, as one of the oldest forms of movement, is currently enjoying great popularity and offers a wide range of possibilities for attributing meaning to sport.
The destination of the excursion is the French Atlantic coast. The attractive beaches on the Cote d'Aquitaine offer excellent opportunities to learn how to surf. The compulsory elective module starts on September 17th with a pre-surf day on which students will learn the theoretical basics before setting off for the south of France. The course lasts two weeks and will pave the way to becoming an independent surfer in both practical and theoretical terms. There are currently still places available on this course. So we invite students and university athletes to spend the last days of summer in the south of France with us in search of the perfect wave. Attention - special highlight: New first semester students are also welcome to take part in the excursion.
