Project team

The "Kasseler Welle - W.E.L.L.E. 2026" is supported by a broad-based network. The Office for Schools and Education of the City of Kassel and the Institute for Sport and Sports Science at the University of Kassel are in charge of the overall pedagogical and scientific concept. The State Education Authority for the district and city of Kassel coordinates the participation of all elementary school, coordinates timetables and ensures that the project week is integrated into the school curricula.
Städtische Werke supports the project as a strategic infrastructure partner, among other things with its expertise in energy and resource management. The swimming pool operators provide the Auebad as a central learning facility, organize safe swimming operations and ensure optimum water quality and supervision with their specialist staff. To ensure that all classes can travel reliably and in an environmentally friendly manner, the Kasseler Verkehrsgesellschaft (KVG) provides the daily bus transfer between the schools and the pool.
This interdisciplinary team of municipal institutions, university and transport companies forms the basis for the project to sustainably achieve its goals in the areas of water competence, aquatic literacy and inclusion.
