The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships through the “Hilde Domin Program,” funded by the Federal Foreign Office. The program is designed to support students and doctoral candidates worldwide who are at risk and who are formally or de facto denied the right to education and/or other fundamental rights in their home countries, enabling them to begin or continue their studies in Germany in order to earn a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree at a German university.

Students and doctoral candidates supported under the program receive a scholarship for a degree program of their choice and in accordance with their individual qualifications, which covers the necessary costs of their studies or research stay.

The goal of the scholarship program is to enable students and doctoral candidates who are at risk in their home countries to pursue undergraduate or doctoral studies at a German university to earn a degree in a safe environment.
