The Center for Planning History of City & Landscape sees itself as an (international) platform for planning history research that brings together the disciplines of urban planning and open space/landscape planning and at the same time as a bridge builder between research and teaching in planning theory.

The Garden History Research Colloquia have been held at irregular intervals since 1993. They have been organized in different formats by different people and their institutions.
