On Thursday, August 31, 2017, a workshop with representatives of crowdworking platforms took place at the Department of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister) as part of the project"Challenge Cloud and Crowd" funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The focus of this event was besides the personal exchange with the platform operators the management of complex work systems via crowdworking platforms as well as the empowerment of crowd workers on such platforms. Managing directors, board members and marketing/PR managers of the crowdworking platforms Content.de (Herford), Crowd Guru (Berlin), Streetspotr (Nuremberg), Testbirds (Munich) and Textbroker (Mainz) gave their assessments of these and other topics relating to crowdworking platforms. The workshop thus provided interesting and valuable assessments both for research at the Department of Information Systems at the University of Kassel and for further work within the sub-project "Crowdworking Platforms" as part of the BMBF project "Challenge Cloud and Crowd".
