The book volume of the project "Herausforderung Cloud und Crowd - Neue Organisationskonzepte für Dienstleistungen nachhaltig gestalten" (Challenge Cloud and Crowd - Designing New Organizational Concepts for Services Sustainably), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA), was recently published as a  book tip in the Harvard Business Managerappeared. The Department of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister) at the University of Kassel was responsible for the sub-project"Crowdworking platforms as innovative service systems" as part of this project (funding code: 02K14A071). In the book volume published by  Haufe-Verlag, the department is represented by the following contributions, among others:

• "Cloud, Hybrid Intelligence and Digital Work for the Engineering of Sociotechnical Systems" (Christoph Peters, Jan Marco Leimeister).

As well as

• "Crowdworking Platforms and the Digitization of Work" (Volkmar Mrass, Christoph Peters, Jan Marco Leimeister).

The Cloud & Crowd project volume claims to measure the digital upheaval anew. It offers an overall view of the strategic upheavals in business and labor. In their contributions, the authors from science, business, trade unions and associations develop analyses and ideas on how the digital upheaval can be successfully shaped.

The book offers current findings from research, interviews on strategies of international pioneering companies, analyses on cloud and crowd and the transformation of work as well as positions of prominent thought leaders.

The project "Challenge Cloud and Crowd", funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA), includes the Institute for Social Science Research (ISF) (network coordinator), the University of Kassel, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), IG Metall, Ver.di and andrena objects AG. 

The Department of Information Systems at the University of Kassel was represented in this project by Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Christoph Peters, Assistant Professor (at the University of St.Gallen) and Research Group Leader, and Volkmar Mrass, Research Associate, among others.
