Economic Behavior & Governance (EB&Go)

Faculty participation in scientific centers, networks and programs

  • International Center for Higher Education Research (INCHER): Under the motto "Universities in social change: multiple missions, hyperactive organizations?", the interdisciplinary research center INCHER investigates a broad spectrum of questions on the development of the higher education and science system, its governance and its social relationships. Behavioral economic findings as well as experimental and quasi-experimental methods are used to contribute to evidence-based higher education and science policy. The departments involved are "Economic Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship" and "Higher Education and the Labor Market".
  • The Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG) conducts interdisciplinary research into the acceptance and acceptability of technical systems. Legal as well as sociological and technical approaches play a role here. The "Business Psychology" department investigates various research questions relating to the acceptance and acceptability of IT systems at work, e.g. in relation to generative AI.
  • Competence Center for University Didactics in Mathematics (khdm): Among other things, research and practice-oriented questions of learning and teaching mathematics in economic contexts are discussed here against the background of behavioral science findings in educational economics and empirical educational research. The subject "Quantitative Methods/VWL" is involved.
  • Research Network for Social Law and Social Policy (FoSS): In this network, which is supported by participants from the Faculties of Human Sciences, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Kassel as well as from Fulda University of Applied Sciences, research is carried out on topics from social law and social policy from a disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective as well as from a legal and social science perspective. Topics with particular relevance to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration include labor market policy and health professions. The "Economic, Social and Labor Law" department is involved.
