ICMF Conference in Vienna
Yahya Shubbak, Nikolai Weidt, and Rico Huhnstock attended the 17th International Conference on Magnetic Fluids (ICMF-17) in Vienna, Austria, from July 5–10, 2026. Among other topics, the conference addressed therapeutic approaches for treating cancer using magnetic particles.
Physics of Magnetism Conference in Poznań
From June 22 to June 26, 2026, Arne Vereijken, Jonas Bugase, and Mika Ossenschmidt attended the European Conference PHYSICS OF MAGNETISM 2026 (PM'26) in Poznań, Poland. Arne Vereijken and Mika Ossenschmidt each presented a poster on magnetic interface effects. Jonas Bugase gave a presentation on the use of geometrically structured magnetic particles to characterize magnetic stray field landscapes. The conference was opened by Klaus von Klitzing, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1985 for the discovery of the quantized Hall effect.
VUVX Conference in Uppsala
Arno Ehresmann, Andreas Hans, Emilia Heikura, and Dana Bloß attended the 42nd International Conference on Vacuum Ultraviolet and X-ray Physics (VUVX 2026) in Uppsala (Sweden), where each of them presented the scientific work of our research group in a talk. The topics of the presentations ranged from high-resolution fluorescence spectroscopy in H₂, to electron-photon coincidence spectroscopy in clusters, chirality studies using photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD), to multi-electron coincidence spectroscopy in the liquid phase.
New Bachelor students
In April 2026, we welcome Julie Hager and Sandra Wetzel as new Bachelor students in our group. We wish you a great time in the AGE and every success with your thesis!
