Work integral
This program calculates the work performed when moving along a curvilinear path through a force field. For example, you can investigate how the work depends on the direction of the displacement (scalar product). Conservative and non-conservative force fields can be studied by selecting suitable parameters. In particular, the work performed on closed paths or the dependence on the path between two points can be investigated.
Operation
Different types of fields can be selected and changed using the parameters a and b. If parameters have been changed, the "Redraw" button must then be pressed to draw the field with the new parameters. At the starting point of the path, press the left mouse button and hold it down until the end of the path. When drawing, the work done up to the current point(W) is displayed.
In the new version, the current location coordinates are displayed. In addition, when drawing a closed path, the right mouse button can now be pressed shortly before reaching the starting point to close the path automatically. This ensures that the starting point is found exactly.
Numerical realization: Piecewise linear approximation of the path with a step size corresponding to one pixel. Calculation of the integral by numerical integration with a step size corresponding to 0.0001 pixels.
