The virtual physics laboratory is a collection of computer programs for visualizing physical phenomena. It is designed so that students and pupils can work with the programs themselves and discover, investigate and quantify the various effects while playing with individual phenomena. The offer is free of charge so that everyone can use the programs on their own computer.

The computer simulation cannot and should not replace real experiments, but offers the opportunity to deal with various phenomena  without experimental effort and to try out many things that go beyond the usual simple examples. In principle, all physical quantities can be displayed in computer simulations, which can often only be realized with great effort in experiments.

The programs are largely based on the numerical solution of ordinary and partial differential equations. They can also be applied to more complex problems and thus come closer to applications and everyday examples than can be achieved with the analytical solution of highly simplified examples.

All programs are programmed for Windows (98/2000/ME/XP/Vista/Windows7) and consist of a single exe file. The programs have been thoroughly tested and should run without any problems. However, no liability can be accepted if damage should occur through the use of a program.
