General information about the Hessian State Domain Frankenhausen

Just outside Kassel, in the agriculturally favored Hofgeismar Rötsenke, lies the Hessian State Domain Frankenhausen, which was leased by the University of Kassel in 1998. Since then, 320 hectares have been farmed there according to organic farming guidelines and a modern teaching, research and transfer center for organic farming and sustainable regional development has been established, which is available to the Department of Organic Agricultural Sciences as a teaching and experimental farm.

The "transparent" model farm for ecologically, economically and socially sustainable management is not only reserved for university research and teaching, but is also freely accessible to the interested public.

We are continuously working towards the following goals:
