Conclusion of the collaborative project “Collective Food Service for Witzenhausen’s Daycare Centers and Schools” at Witzenhausen City Hall

On July 8, 2026, our students will present the results of our service-learning module “Designing Sustainable Food Systems” at a closing event at Witzenhausen City Hall. The afternoon is relevant for all stakeholders and decision-makers in the institutional food service sector in Witzenhausen who

- want to gain insight into the current status of the collaborative project,

- want to learn about the current situation and the specific needs of the stakeholders involved so far,

- want to discuss what it takes to develop sustainable institutional food services in daycare centers and schools,

- want to learn how the project will proceed and contribute their own ideas and perspectives.

Service learning is a teaching and learning method in which students carry out practical projects for the common good. Through this service, which is geared toward a specific societal need, they deepen their professional competencies and contribute to the transfer of knowledge.
