Nutrition not only influences the general health, growth and well-being of humans and animals, but also has an increasing impact on the environment. Farm animals are particularly criticized for consuming important resources and producing climate-damaging gases.

Our research focusses on environmentally sustainable feeding strategies for livestock. Using a combination of in vitro and in vivo methods, different concepts for environmentally sound, performance and animal-friendly nutrition are developed and evaluated at the individual animal and farm level.
