Dr. Hussam Hussein participated in the excursion of the module “Sustainable agricultural practices in the Mediterranean region” as a co-organiser with Dr. Cristina Quintas-Soriano, Dr. Ilze Dzene, and Prof. Andreas Bürkert.

The excursion brought 16 students of the master course to visit sustainable agricultural practices in southern Spain and in Morocco from the 23rd of September until the 3rd of October 2019. The excursion programme included visits to sustainable cattle husbandry in arid systems, greenhouses in Almeria, traditional farming and regenerative agriculture in Granada, traditional irrigation systems in Sierra Nevada, Argan oil production and women cooperatives in the Agadir region, and the High Atlas and Anti Atlas traditional farming (including visits to oasis).
