Nanostructures and Art

Fig: Art with Nanostructures

Research work typically aims toward technical applications or scientific results. In contrast the motivation of this project originates from an interdisciplinary integration of arts and technology. At INA very small diffraction structures are designed which split up white light into different spectral colours and spatial directions. Surfaces with those properties can change their visual appearance depending on the position of the beholder or by actuation of the surface elements themself. In cooperation with our group, artists from Kassel create work using this new technique.
