ISU Kassel is approved and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from funds of the German Federal Foreign Office.

This enables ISU Kassel to provide a number of financial subsidies to qualified applicants who need to apply for scholarships by March 31, 2007.

To apply for a DAAD scholarship you need to send the following documents:

1. a PDF-print of your completed online application (http://www.uni-kassel.de/isu/2007/anmeldung_en.htm) 
2. a CV
3. a letter of motivation stating why you wish to participate in ISU Kassel, which two seminars you would like to attend, any information about past activities relating to the program topics (academic interests, volunteer work, etc), and your personal financial neediness
4. 2 letters of recommendation from professors at your university
5. an academic transcript which lists the courses you enrolled in so far and the grades you received
6. a proof of your English language skills
7. a proof of your affiliation with an Institution of Higher Education

Your completed application including all documents listed above and the registration fee of 250 Euro must be received by ISU Kassel no later than March 31, 2007.

Decisions on scholarships are due in early April 2007. Individual students’ motivation for participation in ISU Kassel, students’ academic excellence, personal financial neediness and the diversity in the composition of the ISU group, will be taken into consideration. Available are a limited number of full scholarships (1500 Euro) and partial scholarships (500 Euro – 1000 Euro).

Please note:

• The registration fee of 250 Euro has to be paid in order to be considered for a scholarship.
• If you are not awarded the scholarship, then your registration fee will be refunded.
• Only applicants currently affiliated with an Institution of Higher Education are eligible for DAAD subsidies.
