The IT Service Center is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the FTP server.

Description

University members can download software packages or gain access to mirrored FTP servers via the anonymous FTP server (AFTP server).

Alternatives

Other FTP servers can often be accessed directly to download software packages. The next.Hessenbox and group resources(network drives) are available for exchanging files.

Functions

  • Mirroring of FTP servers: Provision of frequently used data, e.g. different Linux distributions.
  • Download of software packages: Access to provided software such as TSM backup software.

  • Computer science students can download the latest Linux distributions quickly and without separate registration.

All you need for access is an Internet browser or an FTP client.
