Stata is a comprehensive statistics and data analysis software that is used for empirical research, data management, visualization and statistical modelling. It is particularly suitable for scientific work and courses using quantitative methods.

Who is it suitable for?

Students, lecturers and employees with a UniAccount can use Stata as part of the campus license. Use is restricted to research, teaching and studies.

Responsibility

The IT Service Center manages the campus license and provides support for deployment and licensing.

Employees can view the license code on the “Request License Key (Employees)” subpage. For students, the software is provided via VDI or directly through the Thinn app.

Description

STATA offers comprehensive tools for statistical analysis, data preparation and graphical visualization of quantitative research data. Users can carry out complex statistical methods such as regressions, time series analyses or panel data modeling and present results clearly. The software is particularly popular in social and economic research projects and supports students and researchers with sophisticated empirical analyses.

5. technical requirements

Prerequisites

The software can be installed on Windows, macOS, and Linux. A valid university account is required to use it. The software is provided through the IT Service Center.

6. use and access

Account and login

Employees can obtain a serial number and installation instructions from the IT Service Center. These can be found on the “Request a License Key (Employees)” page . Use of the software is permitted exclusively for university purposes (research and teaching).

Students have the option of using Stata via the VDI environment or via ThinnApp (see Stata).

Data protection and security

The software processes locally stored data. When working with personal data, care must be taken to comply with the applicable data protection regulations.

Legal notices and license information

The campus license permits use exclusively for research, teaching, and academic study. Commercial use is prohibited. Licenses are issued centrally by the IT Service Center.
