FAQ - UKC

If your screens are displayed reversed, you can correct this in the display settings. Open these by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Display settings". There you can drag and drop the screens into the desired order. If necessary, the "Identify" button will help you to assign the screens correctly.

Generally, software is installed on your UniKasselClient by the IT Service Center, as this requires administrator privileges. A distinction must be made between free and paid software.

Free software:

In this case, please contact our IT Service Desk or create a support ticket yourself using the corresponding [online form].

Paid software:

For this, you must submit a procurement request. You can find the corresponding form under “Forms & Downloads” in “Files for Download” -> “Procurement – Devices.” If possible, please also include the model name of the relevant laptop or PC in the request—otherwise, we will contact you regarding this.

If you encounter problems with other work devices, please contact the IT coordinator for your department or institution.

  1. UniKasselClient devices (e.g., PCs, laptops, workstations)
    UniKasselClient devices must be set aside before disposal.
    The IT Service Center will then pick up the devices and erase the data.

  2. Other devices provided by the IT Service Center
    Accessories such as headsets or toner cartridges can be disposed of on your own.
    For electronic waste, please contact the facilities management office or the on-site ServiceDesk.
  3. Devices not procured by the IT Service Center
    Disposal is the responsibility of the respective department.
    All data should be removed before disposal.
