Socioculture meets technology - cooperation with the Schlachthof cultural center

How can artificial intelligence (AI) be used effectively in a socio-cultural center? Our students are investigating this question in their project work: From analyzing processes to developing and testing prototypes, they present solutions for real-life scenarios to the team at the Schlachthof cultural center.

Three student teams are active in different fields of application:

Project 1: Tenders for project funding - AI-supported development and preparation of funding options

Project 2: Process manual - AI-supported process recording & documentation

Project 3: Joint reception area - AI-supported information and guidance system

This cooperation is a win-win situation for both sides! The students gain practical experience in the application of project management and modern technologies, while the Kulturzentrum Schlachthof receives innovative impulses for the digital support of work processes.

Invitation to the closing event

As part of a public event on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, from 9:00 to 12:00, students will present the AI prototypes they developed during the semester and show how digitalization and social innovation can go hand in hand.

The event is designed as an interactive dialog platform: In addition to the presentations by the student teams, there will be keynote speeches by the participating organizations as well as space for discussion, questions and feedback. Cultural professionals, students, academics and all interested parties from the fields of social innovation, digitalization and cultural work as well as journalists are invited. The President of the University of Kassel will open the event as a member of the board of the Kulturzentrum Schlachthof.

Location: Event room at the Schlachthof Cultural Center, Mombachstr. 12, Kassel

Project - Spaced Repetition in the context of networked learning

The project "Spaced Repetition in the context of networked learning" aims to promote sustainable and deep knowledge and competence development in project management by introducing a repository of digital, project management-related knowledge and the method of distributed repetition, using agile methods and digital tools such as ANKI, enabling tutorials with more direct contact with teachers and piloting alternative teaching-learning practices to achieve long-term knowledge anchoring and improved interaction in large courses.

TRegKS - Transformation Network Kassel Region

The Kassel economic region is facing considerable challenges as a result of the mobility and energy transition, particularly for the dominant automotive and supplier industry. The Transformation Network Kassel Region (TRegKs), founded in June 2023, supports this change through networking and knowledge transfer with the aim of developing the region into a sustainable and innovative technology location. One focus is on sensitizing project managers as change agents to accompany transformations in their companies.

The sub-project "Change Agents: Raising Awareness of Change" is dedicated to raising the awareness of project managers as key players in the transformation in companies in the automotive industry in order to implement change in a structured and efficient manner through targeted project management and to meet the challenges of digital and sustainable transformation; this project was taken over by the Project Management in Digital Transformation department in April 2024 and promotes readiness for the necessary change through various events.
