Please note

The activities of the Department of Extreme Light for Material Structures extends over several locations: Our offices with assistant and Professor Florian Baron are located at the above-mentioned postal address in the Hansa Haus. Some of our laser laboratories and scientific staff are located at the HPS site.

Spontaneously interested parties, such as students looking for theses, will find contact persons at both locations. Or just send us a short email.

Approach Hansa House (close to main campus)

There are paid parking spaces in front of the Hansa Haus (Kurt-Schumacher-Str. 31). There are very few parking spaces around the Holländischer Platz campus in the surrounding streets (Henschelstraße, Mönchebergstraße). All parking spaces here are also subject to charges.

The main-line station is Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. You can also reach Kassel-Hauptbahnhof via regional transport. Train connections are available at www.bahn.de.

 

In Kassel, around 400 rental bikes are available at 56 stations. The location Holländischer Platz is connected to the system. More info at: nextbike - campusbike.

 

Tram stops:

  • "Altmarkt/Regierungspräsidium"
    Tram lines 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8.
  • "Am Stern", alternative with 300m walk:
    Tram lines 1 and 5 in addition to above and Regio-Tram RT1 and RT4.

Kassel Wilhelmshöhe station -> Campus Holländischer Platz:
Starting from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe (train station) you will find the following streetcar connections:

  • "Altmarkt" stop:
    • Line 3 in the direction of Ihringshäuser Straße.
    • Line 4 in the direction of Hessisch Lichtenau Bürgerhaus.
  • Alternatively, stop "Am Stern" plus 300m walk:
    • Line 1 in the direction of Holländische Straße/Vellmar.

The nearest airports are: Kassel-CaldenFrankfurtHannover und Paderborn. From Kassel-Calden you can take a cab or the bus line 130 to Kassel city center. You can find the exact timetable on the website of the Kasseler Verkehrsgesellschaft. From Frankfurt, Hanover and Paderborn there are train connections to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe.
