Navigating to Kassel

Traveling bei Train & Public Transport

Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe is the primary railway hub for long-distance travel, offering frequent ICE (InterCityExpress) high-speed connections from all major German cities. The station is also served by long-distance bus providers like FlixBus.

From Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe to the Campus:

  • Take Tram 1 (Direction: Vellmar), Bus 52 (Direction: Sandershausen), or Bus 100 (Direction: Calden Airport).
  • Exit at the stop: Holländischer Platz/Universität.

From Kassel Hauptbahnhof (Central Station):

  • Take the regional tram RT1 (Direction: Holländische Straße) or Bus lines 30, 52, or 110 to the Holländischer Platz stop.

Traveling by Car

Kassel is seamlessly integrated into the German Autobahn network and can be reached via the A7 (North/South), A44 (West), and A49 motorways.

Important Parking Notice: Parking spaces around the main campus at Holländischer Platz (e.g., Henschelstraße, Mönchebergstraße) are highly limited and subject to fees. We strongly recommend using public transport to reach the venue. Alternatively, please utilize one of the several Park & Ride (P&R) facilities located in and around Kassel, from which you can easily commute to the campus.

Traveling by Airplane

If you are flying in, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is the most convenient international hub. It features a direct high-speed ICE train connection that takes you straight to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe in approximately 90 minutes.

Alternative Airports:

  • Hannover (HAJ) & Hamburg (HAM): Shuttle buses or local trains connect the airports to their respective main train stations. From there, ICE trains take you to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe (approx. 50 minutes from Hannover; 140 minutes from Hamburg).
  • Paderborn (PAD): Regional train connections to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe are available.
  • Kassel-Calden (KSF): From the local airport, you can reach the Kassel city center via taxi or Bus line 130.

On the Campus

The congress itself takes place inside the Campus Center. From the Holländischer Platz bus and tram stop, the easiest way to reach the venue is by taking a short walk across the campus along the main central path, known as the "Diagonale".
