Freedom of Expression Week at Kassel University Library: May 3-10, 2026
Image: adobe.stock.comHow do we recognize truth in times of fake news and AI? On the occasion of the nationwide Freedom of Opinion Week, Kassel University Library is offering a wide range of opportunities to actively engage with opinion-forming and information literacy from May 3 to 10, 2026.
We invite you to the following offers:
- Newspaper reading corner: In the entrance area of the campus library, you can discover a selection of current daily newspapers every day. The reading corner offers space to examine different perspectives and reflect on the importance of independent media for freedom of opinion.
- Hands-on offer: "Deciphering disinformation - strengthening information literacy"
On three dates (5, 6 and 7 May), you will have the opportunity to learn in a hands-on interactive workshop how to recognize misinformation, manipulated content and AI-generated texts and how digital tools can be used for factual research.
