As part of the Kassel University Library, the MURHARDSCHE, as it is affectionately called by the people of Kassel, is particularly open to the citizens of the city and the region. Centrally located at Brüder-Grimm-Platz and easily accessible by public transport, it forms a central interface between cultural life and knowledge transfer in the region with its wide range of printed and electronic media.

The Brüder-Grimm-Platz branch will be closed from 17 to 22 August due to relocation work. 

Book display

Books on current topics are regularly displayed on a book display at the Brüder-Grimm-Platz location.

Historical place of learning

The building at Brüder-Grimm-Platz houses the Murhard Library and the State Library under one roof. As the 'most historic' location of the UB, it offers the atmosphere of a classical library in addition to the modern infrastructure.
