The State Library is the oldest part of the Kassel University Library. Its history dates back to the 16th century. The special collections and the Hassiaca subject area jointly look after the historical heritage of the old Kassel State Library [Read more].

Manuscripts, estates, historical music and other historical special collections can only be made available digitally during this time. Please contact the Special Collections for this.

The use of historical holdings in the special reading room is possible after mandatory advance booking and making an appointment.

Use Mon to Thu from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fri from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
