Mission

The UniArchives is the central office for safeguarding, documenting and making accessible the cultural and scientific heritage of the University of Kassel. The UniArchives is a public archive according to the Hessian Archive Act, is professionally managed and regulated by statutes.

Sustainable

"Sustaining knowledge" - the UniArchives stands for a sustainable approach to knowledge and history. The memory institution is committed to a transparent reappraisal of the past, the systematic preservation of evidence for future generations and the efficient use of knowledge resources. The sustainability goals of the United Nations (SDG) form the basis for our business.


Fair

Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable - transparency and participation are two guiding principles for the appraisal of documents and their processing. The UniArchives measures include:

- documentation on the basis of profile
- Easily accessible description
- Publication of finding aids and their linking to the Integrated Authority File (GND)

Relevant

"Yesterday for today and tomorrow" - the targeting of social challenges is one of the trademarks of the University of Kassel. The UniArchive is open to current research, debates and developments. They form the guidelines for our documentation and knowledge transfer. The sources of the UniArchive have the potential to enrich diagnoses of the times and reveal new perspectives.
