Catalogues of Manuscripts

A compilation of German and international catalogues and databases of manuscripts accessible via the internet.

Not included are the collections recorded in the OLIVER database of HMML (Hill Museum and Manuscript Library).

For information on German-language manuscripts / texts in foreign libraries / collections, you can also use the Manuscript Archive of the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (HSA) and the manuscript census with the associated Marburg repertories (MR13 / MR14). There you will also find an overview of the (digitized) manuscript catalogs cited in the repertories. Information on manuscript holdings can also be searched by location in the manuscript portal . For holdings in Austria, the repertory manuscripta.at should also be consulted, for those in Switzerland e-codices.

Wikisource contains a list of the manuscripts mentioned and transcribed there (library manuscripts, archival documents) sorted by location.
