Economic Policy Research Group: Unit

The Economic Policy Research Group works on a spectrum of topics that are directly related to economic policy. Our research projects are mostly empirical in nature and focus on the fields of industrial dynamics, economics of science and technology, entrepreneurship and innovation. They are based on a broad behavioral foundation encompassing insights from economic theory as well as the neighboring social sciences. Our general research objective is to gain new insights about innovative change in modern economies and to make them useful for practitioners.

Our research provides the foundation of our teaching activities. Our courses provide students with knowledge and skills for own research activities, but also prepare them for a career outside academia.

Within the University of Kassel we are involved in a variety of collaborations. In particular, we closely interact with the International Center for Higher Education Research (INCHER Kassel). We moreover cooperate with a number of partners from German and international universities (among others, Carnegie Mellon University, Max Planck Institute of Economics, Friedrich Schiller Universität Jena, Université de Strasbourg, Technische Universität München, Halle Institute of Economic Research).
