Study Programme Talks

Introduction

As a supplement to the quantitative evaluation procedures, the University of Kassel offers students and teachers course-related talks to improve the quality of studies and teaching.

  • The initiative for the implementation or the registration of talks can come from students or teachers alike. The departments are supported by employees of the central university administration.

The moderated interviews last about 1 to 2 hours. Afterwards, a protocol of the results is prepared, which can also contain transcribed and anonymized interview passages as well as content-analytical evaluations, if required. This method of documentation has proven useful, for example, for use in reaccreditation procedures.

In recent years, interviews have taken place in the following study programs, among others:

Architecture, Biology, European Master of Business Studies, History, Art Science, Landscape Planning, Mathematics, Nanostructural Sciences, Physics, Urban Planning, Environmental Law, Business Law.

The possibility of conducting program interviews is anchored in the evaluation statutes of the University of Kassel. In particular, interviews can take the place of student surveys in study programs with only a few students.
