Research Assistant (PhD Student)

Applications for the vacant position of a Research Assistant (PhD Student) are currently invited and welcome (pay grade EG13, limited to 3+2 years, full time).
The person to be hired is expected to develop and investigate methods of intelligent and optimization-based control for systems under considerable uncertainties, including applications from the fields of production and autonomous vehicles. The research combines concepts from control theory and artificial intelligence, and includes theoretical work, algorithmic iimplementation, and numeric evaluation.

PhD Positions and Scientific Staff

The institute of Control and System Theory is continuously interested in applications from outstanding candidates for research positions (level of Phd student or postdoc). The primary research area are methods for control or optimization of distributed, nonlinear, or hybrid dynamic systems with possible application in automotive, robotic, or production systems.
A necessary requirement for being hired is a Master degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, mathematics, or a similar discipline with very good results and a clear focus on control systems.

Undergraduate Student Positions

The institute continuously employs students for work within research projects or support of teaching. A necessary requirement for being hired is a successful result in the course "Fundamentals of Control" (grade of at least 2.0).
