Memberships relating to university sports (basic membership, monthly water sports card, fit and healthy card) are collected monthly and can be canceled monthly with a notice period of 14 days before the end of the month. The memberships remain valid until they are actively canceled. Exmatriculation is not the same as termination of membership in university sports.

To take part in courses, you need a university sports membership (basic membership, fit and healthy card, UNIfit or water sports card). It is possible to join a course during the course period if there are still places available.

You can register via our website(https://www.uni-kassel.de/einrichtung/hochschulsport/kursprogramm/mitglied-werden) where you will find the various memberships. Select the membership you want and click on it. Click on "Become a member" to access the registration form. You can then register for courses.

One-time participation is possible free of charge.

As the university sports course program is mainly intended for students and staff of the University of Kassel, members of the Friends of the University and guests can only register for the courses at a later date.

The course fees vary from area to area and are set by University Sports.

The course fee only has to be paid once per course period. The course fee is determined for courses that require additional material and according to course areas.

Students and employees of the University of Kassel are insured against accidents by the Unfallkasse Hessen. Civil servants are exempt from this; in the event of an accident, they are covered by the service accident insurance of the State of Hesse.

Members of the association "Freunde des Kasseler Hochschulsports e. V." are covered by the sports insurance of the Landessportbund Hessen. Guests participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own insurance cover.

As the Unfallkasse Hessen does not cover damage to property, we recommend that all participants also take out private liability insurance in order to be adequately covered in the event of damage.

Generally during semesters and semester breaks. Usually on weekdays from 5pm to 10pm. Courses at the weekend are also possible.

All course instructors must fill out a feedback form, after which the course times are determined, who can give their course when and where.

Courses are allocated anew each period depending on the feedback. There is no automatic transfer of course times.

You will receive a teaching assignment from us, which you fill out and send back to us. You will then receive a time sheet by post from the HR department. You will receive one time sheet per period. If you want to have your hours paid out several times per period, you must copy this yourself. Please submit the completed timesheet to University Sports, either digitally or by post. The payment will be made on the last working day of the month in question. If you submit the timesheet at the beginning of the month, you are sure to receive the money at the end of the calendar month.

As instructors are classed as lecturers, online billing is not possible without the approval of the HR department. Copy the timesheet you have received and enter the hours worked. Send the statement to University Sports.

Depending on the course, we will assign you to an area that determines the remuneration according to your licenses or previous experience.

The initial salary will be determined by us according to your qualifications. You can improve your salary by completing further training or licenses if you then submit these to the university sports department.

If possible, find a replacement yourself (ideally an exercise instructor who already works in university sports). If no replacement is possible, the course must be canceled for the date.

Yes, you are insured through university sports.
