When?
During the break between semesters (February through April or July through October)

Duration:
10 weeks, 200 class hours

What will you learn?

• Communicate independently and clearly
• Understand complex texts: listening and reading comprehension of longer texts
• Writing various types of texts
• Deepen your understanding of B2-level grammar and expand your vocabulary

Yes

Cost:
450 euros (as of July 2026)

Certificate:
If you attend regularly and pass the midterm and final tests, you will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

1. The placement test for this course

The test assesses whether you currently have German language skills at the B2 level. To participate, you must pass both parts of the test:

• Part 1: Listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and grammar
• Part 2: Free text production (writing your own text)

2. Registration for the placement test

Please fill out the application form and upload the following documents there:

1. A scan of your current conditional admission letter from the University of Kassel.
2. Proof of your B2 language proficiency (B2 certificates from telc, Goethe, ÖSD, or similar)

What happens after I submit my application?

• After we have reviewed your documents, we will notify you by email whether you have been admitted to the placement test.
• If you are accepted, you will receive two links: one for registration and one for payment via PayPal.

Important: Your spot is not firmly reserved until you have registered and paid the fee immediately. Once payment is received, you will receive a registration confirmation.

If you do not meet the requirements, we cannot accept your application. If your German language skills are not yet sufficient, we recommend that you take another German course.

3. Course Overview

• Writing various types of texts
• Expanding academic language structures and vocabulary

Final exam?

Yes. If you pass, you can register for the DSH exam.

580 euros (as of July 2026)
