L5 - Practical semester MPO 2023

In the teaching degree for special needs education with a focus on inclusion (L5), the practical semester comprises a subject didactics module in the chosen teaching subject and a module in the area of the two special needs education subjects (sub-degree course in special needs and inclusion education)

The practical semester is usually completed in the fifth or sixth semester and at least half of it is completed at a special school or a counseling and support center (BFZ).

Special feature: The placement school can also be an inclusive secondary school if organizational reasons (coordination with the practical semester module in the subject or lack of placement places at special schools and BFZ) make this necessary

Completion of the school-based part of the basic internship is a prerequisite for participation in the internship semester. To register for the internship semester, at least one confirmed place in the basic internship must be proven.

Registration takes place at the respective time via the homepage of the Department of Practical School Studies and ONE SEMESTER in advance!

Activities at the school are generally unpaid as part of the internship semester. You cannot carry out any paid work (e.g. substitute teaching at the internship school) during the internship semester.

It is also not possible to have such activities recognized as an internship semester. However, recognition is possible as part of the second training phase, the preparatory service ("Referendariat").

The University of Kassel will not require a certificate of good conduct from you. However, your internship school may request this.
